    Roadi vs. Prism.fm

Prism.fm runs the business side of the deal. Roadi brings the band in too.

Both handle holds to settlement. Roadi also gives the band and its manager their own view, agents can reply without buying the software, and our pricing is public.

    Both do

Holds and challenges, offers, contracts, co-pro settlements, advancing, deposits, reporting, and staff views that keep the money out of sight.

    Only Roadi

A free workspace for bands, plus managers, festivals and touring production on the same show. Show graphics and artist upload links for your marketing coordinator, crew calls and a tech pack for your production team, and a nonprofit account for memberships and volunteers. Published pricing, from $49 a month.

    Prism leads on

A longer track record, named ticketing integrations (Etix, See Tickets, Eventbrite, Tixr), an agency product, a performing arts center product with named customers such as Mesa Arts Center, and Prism Insights' shared box-office data.

Looking for a Prism.fm alternative? Prism.fm is booking and settlement software for venues, promoters, performing arts centers and booking agencies. Roadi runs the same holds-to-settlement workflow, and also gives the bands, managers, festivals and touring production crews on each show a view of their own.

One settlement. Both sides read it.

The settlement builds itself from the offer. The band opens the same numbers on their phone and approves them from a link, so nobody re-keys a total at 1am.

Roadi settlement ledger for a versus deal: $24,540 gross, $20,645 net to split, the band's 80% beats its $3,200 guarantee, artist takes home $18,866.80 and the venue $13,797.20

When Prism.fm is the better pick

We'd rather you choose the right tool than switch and regret it. Prism has been around longer, and today it's the stronger choice if:

    • You want built-in ticketing feeds from Etix, See Tickets, Eventbrite or Tixr.
    • You size offers from Prism Insights' shared box-office data.
    • Your booking agency and the promoters you work with already run on Prism.
    • You run a performing arts center and want matinee and Broadway runs, Pro Forma modeling and an SDK for your IT team.
    • Only your team needs the software, and you don't need the band in the loop.

    Switching from Prism.fm

    We do the heavy lifting.

    1. 1Export your reports from PrismTake what Prism's reports give you, such as settled shows and open holds and offers, and ask Prism which exports your plan includes.
    2. 2We import them and check them with youShow history, open book and staff, set up before anything goes live.
    3. 3Invite the rest of the showBands, agents and managers join free from a link.

Download before your Prism subscription ends. Its terms say it may remove and discard your content once an account ends, and that backing up your content is up to you.

    Customer story

“You didn't just take our requirements and nail them. You got inside our heads and showed us how we should be running the nonprofit.”

    Switching from Prism.fm: common questions

    What is Prism.fm?
Prism.fm is live music business software from Prism FM Inc. in Austin, Texas. It handles holds, offers, contracts, settlements, advancing and reporting for venues, promoters, performing arts centers and booking agencies, and runs Prism Insights, a shared database of box-office results.
Is Roadi a good Prism.fm alternative?
It is if you want the band and its manager working from the same offer, contract and settlement as you, agents replying without buying the software, and pricing you can see up front. If you rely on Prism Insights' box-office data or its built-in ticketing integrations, weigh that before you switch.
Can you move our shows over from Prism?
Yes. Export your reports from Prism, send them to us, and our team imports them. Do it before your Prism subscription ends: Prism's terms let it discard your content after your account ends.
Does Prism.fm work for booking agencies?
Yes. Prism sells an agency product, and its Connected Show feature imports a promoter's offer into the agency's Prism account when both sides use Prism. In Roadi, agents can work from their own agent workspace, or accept, decline and counter an offer from a link without an account.
    How much does Prism.fm cost?
Prism doesn't publish its pricing on its site, so you get a quote from its team. Roadi venue plans start at $49 a month, sized by room capacity, with unlimited seats and unlimited shows.
Do the bands we book have to pay?
No. Independent bands never pay for Roadi. They see the offers, contracts and settlements you share with them.
Does an agent need a Roadi account to accept an offer?
No. Agents accept, decline or counter from a secure link. Contracts are signed and settlements approved the same way.
    Does Prism.fm have marketing tools?
Prism's calendar tracks on-sales and announcements, and its task templates can hold a marketing team's to-dos. We found no show graphics, promo copy or artist upload links on its site, and Prism says it focuses solely on booking software. In Roadi, your marketing coordinator gets a seat on your venue plan: an alert in Roadi and by email when a show confirms or tickets go live, a promo plan for every show, a link for the artist to upload photos and bio, show graphics in four sizes, and sell-through and ad spend per show, with no deal terms in view.
Can our production manager work in Prism.fm?
Yes, as a member of your team. Prism has production schedules, an Advance tool, event files and task templates by department, with permissions set by role. We found no crew scheduling, crew calls or tech pack on its site, and no login for a touring production manager. In Roadi, you invite your production manager to your venue team for advancing, riders, show day, crew calls with a confirm link and a tech pack you share by link, and the database keeps deal money out of their view. Touring production managers get their own workspace with tours, versioned riders, a crew grid and crew pay.
    Does Prism.fm work for nonprofits?
Prism sells to performing arts centers, including Mesa Arts Center and Cerritos Center, and covers their booking, finance and settlement work. Its own blog says donor and fundraising tools belong in separate software. Roadi has a nonprofit account built for music nonprofits: membership tiers with an applications queue, sign-up forms for your website or a tablet, staff and volunteer shifts, grant tracking and exportable impact reports. Roadi does not handle donations or fundraising either.
    Will our ticketing platform connect?
If your ticketing platform has an open API, we'll integrate with it. If it doesn't, Roadi imports your box office sales report and remembers the column layout, so you only set it up once.
Roadi is in beta. What does that mean for us?
You get hands-on setup from the team building it, and your feedback shapes what ships next.

    Ready to switch from Prism.fm?

Tell us about your room. We'll import your show history and have you set up before anything goes live.
